Exness Swap-Free (Islamic) Account
How Exness swap-free accounts work — no overnight swap interest on eligible instruments, for traders who avoid riba.
Open Exness Account →Exness offers swap-free (Islamic) accounts: positions held overnight on eligible instruments are not charged or paid swap interest, which suits traders who avoid interest (riba). Swap-free applies to qualifying account types and instruments; the spread and any commission still apply, and a fixed administration fee may replace swap on some instruments after several days. Whether trading itself is permissible is a personal decision for each trader.
Exness swap-free at a glance
Put simply, a swap-free account is an ordinary trading account with the overnight interest switched off: a position can stay open past the end of the trading day without an interest charge appearing in the account history. What that changes — and what it leaves untouched — is set out below.
- Swap-free removes the overnight swap (interest) on eligible instruments held past the daily rollover.
- Available on qualifying Exness account types — set at account opening or in the Personal Area.
- Applies to eligible instruments such as major forex pairs and gold; some instruments may carry a fixed administration fee instead of swap after several days.
- The spread and any account commission still apply — swap-free changes only the overnight interest.
- Whether forex or CFD trading is permissible is a personal and scholarly question; Exness simply provides the swap-free option.
- Swap-free accounts open with no minimum initial deposit.
- Spreads still start from 0.0 pips on Raw Spread and Zero; only the overnight swap is removed.
- Works on MT4, MT5, the Exness Terminal and the app, like other Exness accounts.
- Exness has offered trading since 2008, including swap-free options for eligible clients.
- Swap-free covers eligible instruments among the 100+ Exness markets.
- Most withdrawals are processed automatically, 24/7, on swap-free accounts too.
- Most withdrawals are processed automatically — over 98% — including on swap-free accounts.
- On Raw Spread and Zero the commission (up to $3.50 per side per lot) still applies; only the overnight swap is removed.
- MetaTrader 5 gives swap-free traders 21 timeframes and a built-in economic calendar.
Processing times may vary depending on the chosen payment method.

Swap-free explained without the jargon
A trade can be closed the same day or left open for weeks. Anything still open at the end of the trading day passes through what the platform calls the daily rollover, and at that moment a small amount is normally added to the account or taken from it. That amount is the swap, and it exists because holding a currency position overnight involves the interest rates attached to the two currencies in the pair.
Interest is exactly what riba refers to. For a trader who avoids interest for religious reasons the swap is a problem whatever its size — the objection is to what the charge is, not to how large it is.
A swap-free account, usually called an Islamic account, removes that overnight interest on eligible instruments. A position held from Monday to Friday collects no swap for those nights: the line that would normally appear in the account history is simply not there.
What does not change is everything else. The spread — the small gap between the buy price and the sell price — still applies, commission still applies on the account types that charge it, and on some instruments a fixed administration fee may take the place of swap once a position has been held for several days. That fee is a flat amount rather than a percentage that keeps growing. Swap-free is not a discount and not a promotion: it removes one specific cost and leaves the rest of the pricing exactly as it is.
Swap-free belongs to the account, not to a single trade. It is available on qualifying account types and is requested when the account is opened, or later from the Personal Area — it is not a button pressed before each order. Nothing else about the account changes: MT4, MT5, the Exness Terminal and the app behave exactly as they do on any other account.
One question a broker cannot answer is whether trading itself is permissible. Removing the interest element settles one narrow point; the wider question belongs to each trader and the scholar or ustadz they choose to ask. The swap-free option exists so that the interest part is not what stands in the way.
