Choose the window by the job, not by the feature count. For a full analytical set in one place that is MT5, with 21 timeframes, Depth of Market and the calendar inside the terminal. For a layout carried over from years of use, MT4 still connects every account type. On a machine where nothing may be installed, the Exness Terminal opens in any modern browser. What MT4 does not carry over from MT5

The gap between the two MetaTrader builds is a list of things MT5 is published with and MT4 is not: 21 timeframes against 9, 38 built-in indicators and 44 analytical objects against more than 30 indicators, six pending order types instead of the classic set, plus Depth of Market and an economic calendar inside the terminal. None of that changes an order once it is sent. It changes how much you can see before you send it.

So the honest question is not which build is newer. It is whether your routine touches depth of market, the calendar or the extra timeframes at all. A layout built on four timeframes and two indicators looks the same in both windows, and MT4 connects every account type, including Standard Cent, which the browser window does not list.

The browser window and the price of installing nothing

The app is a control panel, not a small desktop

1. Can you install software on the machine you trade from? If not, the Exness Terminal in a browser is the only window that needs no install.
2. Do you use Depth of Market, the built-in economic calendar or more than nine timeframes? If yes, that is MT5. If no, MT4 and MT5 will look much the same to you.
3. Are you opening a Standard Cent account? It connects through MT4 and MT5, not through the browser Terminal.
4. Will you mostly be watching a position rather than building one? The Trade app covers that from iOS or Android, on the same account.
5. Do you expect the window to change your cost? It does not — spread and commission are set by the account type you opened.
