Windows as the fixed screen in Indonesia
A desktop is usually a deliberate choice rather than a default one. The desktop MetaTrader build installs on Windows 10 and 11 and keeps what a phone discards: saved chart templates, indicator settings, several timeframes visible together, and an order history that does not need scrolling on a small screen.
A machine left powered on also holds its connection through the evening, when the American session is running in local hours. That removes the small friction of waking a device and signing in each time attention returns to the market, which counts for more over a long session than it sounds.
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are separate installations, so the download to choose is the one the account was opened for. Nothing about the desktop is exclusive: the same account opens on a phone or in a browser afterwards, showing the same open positions, so a desktop session and a mobile one are two views rather than two setups.
How Exness runs on a Windows PC
On a desktop PC, Exness runs through the MetaTrader 5 and MetaTrader 4 Windows terminals, which install on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The download links are in the Exness account area once you have signed in.
Desktop app or web on the PC
If you would rather not install a desktop app, the Exness Terminal runs in any browser on the PC with nothing to download. MetaTrader gives more advanced charting and automated trading; the web terminal starts without an install.
